Can WotC be forgiven?

I don't accept apologies from corporate entities. It doesn't make sense. Hasbro can't feel "guilt" or "remorse." It can't learn or grow. If it apologized, it's because some suit sees profit in it somewhere. That's the only reason a market-incentivized homunculus does anything. And the idea of D&D as a brand that is controlled by the rightsholders is too powerful and potentially profitable for me to believe the company truly has any other agenda.

I do accept actions, however. If they decide there is profit in appeasing their audience, and they wish to do so, I am open to seeing if the offer meets my needs for the game. Long term, big picture, considering profits, I don't mind if D&D becomes a lifestyle brand more focused on making TV shows and video games and selling you gacha minis in a VTT than on making a good TTRPG. It's not likely to be something I engage with much, but if that's what prints money, go for it.

But if you are willing sacrifice this weird little industry to do it, to diminish the game and the options I have for it, to disregard this tiny but passionate force for positivity in the world, then it's not gonna work. What Hasbro needs from their brand and what I need from their brand are too divergent.

I will look to homunculi that know how to party instead.

Hasbro and WOTC needs to fire every suit involved in devising and pushing this new OGL, and publicly announce those firings, name by name. That's the first step of many they need to take.
I suppose the shareholders can fire the execs that are responsible for the Anti-OGL?
