D&D 5E I think Elspeth just ended up in the Forgotten Realms.

Maybe this a little off-topic comment, but we should remember M:tG is not limited to only medieval fantasy. This means planewalkers could visit worlds with modern technology.

Shout out for Neon Dynasty.

I think it was the latest invasion event by the Phyrexian machines. It was a sad moment for me because, at least the last time I checked it, they'd turned one of my favourite planeswalkers (Ajani) into a Phyrexian sleeper agent or something.
They're doing time travel Shennanigans, that's a Death of Superman gambit.

Not sure that's wise. Last time they messed around with time, a bunch of planeswalkers had to sacrifice their sparks to close a bunch of rifts which ended up making planeswalkers as a whole less powerful.
I mean, probably not: my impression as someone not too bought into the Magic metaplot is that "not sure that's wise" could be their design philosophy motto.

Love the world building and rhe game, but the plot is ludicrous.

Yeah, that's accurate. I'm getting the vibe that they are building to a new status quo wipe soon with these events.

I think the only time travel stuff in MOM will be to finally restore Tefari's homeland to regular Dominaria time, so it's not out of phase and they can have their Wakanda moment/reinforcements moment on Dominaria.

I think what will stop the Phyrexians is Elpeth turns the Sylex from an explosive into a Halo bumb, pouring halo into it instead of negative emotions, which instead of blowing things up, purifies all or almost all Phyrexian Oil from the multiverse. After she gets back from FR.

I remember the old AD&D had got some monsters like the Phyrexians, the alien mechanical horrors known as "sheens", appeared in Dragon Magazine. These are perfect as antagonists in a D&D/Transformers crossover. (Is anybody working for Hasbro reading this?), and also for other crossovers with no-fantasy franchises.

If Phyrexians tried to invade Mechanus, the plane of Law, they would create accidentally a demiplane in the middle between Mechanus and Acheron. They could be interesting enemies in some Asian-style videogame, one of those where PCs have to destroy animated-statues-style alien monsters.

Charlie Sheen is an Alien Mechanical Horror, it explains so much!/jk
