D&D Movie/TV There's A New Trailer For D&D: Honor Among Thieves

A brand new trailer for the upcoming Dungeons & Dragons movie has just been released! The movie comes out March 31st. This trailer very much highlights the tongue-in-cheek nature of the movie and is filled with one-liners. The trailer also gives us a good luck at the Red Wizards of Thay, along with the mimic, the owlbear, and other iconic D&D monsters.

The 2000 movie was a pretty accurate representation of the game. It even included the DM handwaving a random encounter that would have resulted in a TPK (the beholder).
But my favorite D&D movies are still Gamers 1 and 2.

I am so looking forward to this movie!

And the more previews I see for it, the more I am convinced that the main characters don’t just represent PC class archetypes, but also players as well:

Edgin - tragic backstory hero / the player who is just here to have fun.

Holga - ~murderhobo / the player who probably deals with corporate nonsense in their real-world job CONSTANTLY, and so plays D&D as a kind of stress relief.

Simon - arcane spellcaster / the player who is terrified of their PC taking any amount of damage.

Doric - wildshape-happy druid / brand new player who finally found a gaming group… only to realize the other players are all idiots.

Xenk - goody two-shoes paladin (at least, at first) / power gamer.

I'm a big fan of the original trilogy of D&D movies. Are they an Original Trilogy now? lol

I often play the 2000 movie after a fun session.

I'm thinking Chris Pine's character isn't a real Bard, just a Rogue with the Entertainer background. Maybe even a Mastermind Rogue.
