Why not, as a matter of interest?

I mean, if you only do homebrew then (almost) nothing on the Guild is going to be relevant to you, but if you run WotC adventures then the "guides" on the Guild are a great resource and the are lots of side-quests, encounters etc. that enhance the adventures.

(Personally, I've got no interest in the new classes, archetypes and the like, but presumably some people must be buying them.)

I'd love to see every setting opened up on the Guild, no matter how niche, as it gives fans of those settings a chance to share their creativity.

Own to much content used it earlier.

Most doesn't get used so don't need to buy more.

I don't need a new version of Dark Sun. But if there is one that introduces more people to Dark Sun, I think that would be great.

I would like something Dark Sun. Anything really. Just not nothing. I bought into that Darksun-esk Kickstarter before WOTC unfortunately shut it down.

No. Because whatever WotC released would just be met with incessant complaints from people who remember their old Dark Sun products and can't comprehend why the new release isn't exactly like their old ones.

If people want to play Dark Sun... there are 43 products from 2E and 4E listed currently on DMs Guild that they can purchase... which will be just like the Athas they remember. So the DM has to do some of their own work to prepare those products for use in their campaign in order to be used with 5E. Oh darn. What a shame. Asking a DM to actually do a little work to make a setting their own, rather than having a published setting they can pull directly off the shelf and have it be EXACTLY what they want without having to put in any effort whatsoever. How could we?

Nice.

Do you think the complaints people had about Spelljammer were at all related to what you are talking about?

Almost nobody I've seen critiquing it mentioned its similarity or lack of similarity to the 90s version as a any sort of point.

Are you kidding? If I wanted to bother, I'd find the post I made before the Spelljammer book was released where I said "Be careful what you wish for"... because I knew even then that a lot of the posters who were jumping for joy about Spelljammer getting released were going to end up disappointed with what WotC made... and that they were better off just using their old SJ stuff and bringing it up to 5E use on their own.

And hey? Guess what happened?

And yet EVEN NOW we have people still saying they want 5E Dark Sun. When all of us know full well it AIN'T gonna end up being what they want if WotC ever decides to make such a product. But some people just can't help themselves I guess.

Hasbro could make money with merchandising linked with DS, even among the no-geek community, for example posters and t-shirts.

I wonder if DS was adapted into videogame by a big fish in the industry, but no toxic-lobby would rather to complain against that megacorporation.

OK, slavery can't be showed in products for children.
