If you've seen it, give us your score! Out of 10, 1 is low, 10 is high. Use whatever criteria you want--I'm not your das!
What? No 1 to 20 to allow for Critical Fumble or Critical Success?!?

I gave it an 8. Will be going to a second watch (that's a rarity for me), some of the effects were a little downer, a plot element or two was a tad questionable. Overall, a MUCH better attempt than the 2000 version, the characters were likable and the story was interesting - and most of all, it felt like it was D&D not just in name, but in spirit.

The next one needs a romp in Undermountain, though. :D

Saw it today and enjoyed it quite a bit. I think the weakest bit was the maze, it dragged for me and made little sense as spectator sport.

Holga and Edgin were a great pairing, though i wish we could have seen a bit more of Edgin doing bard-y things. Hugh Grant was very good, and Daisy Head quite scary.

I thought Xenk was a strange choice for Rege-John Page and I was surprised by how short his time was on screen. I thought he would reappear for the final battle in some clutch moment.

Simon and the druid were cute, but Justice Smith seemed an odd casting choice, he just seemed a bit out of his league?

Loved the clever use of Hither-Thither (dimension door?) and all the ways it went wrong. :)

I do chuckle that the ENWorld consensus is much harsher than the general public's impressions.
We look at it through a lens of long suffering from the previous movies and we just have a different lived experience than the vast audience out there that are not TTRPGers. There is also left over emotions from the OGL boondoggle that may be coloring some peoples view.

Personally, I gave this a 9. There were a few misses with the practical monster effects, some pacing issues in the first act, etc. But those are very small quibbles for an otherwise awesome popcorn film that had more heart than most of it's brethren.

I'd give it a 7.5 (but I have to round up to 8). Pacing on the first act was poor, some of the visual effects were off, and not all the jokes landed. That said, I'd definitely watch it again and will likely buy the Blu-Ray.
