How’s that an issue?
It's not really, but it IS quite a bit boring from my side of the screen.
Some people apparently like the ‘I swing my sword’ Fighter (I’ve been told that repeatedly).
Whereas, I've got no problem at all with the fighter. I mean, I suppose if the player were to simply say "sword" and roll every round, it would "feel" more like a Warlock's EB to me. But, IME most fighters (due to being in Melee, I guess?) have a LOT more back-and-forth with the monster, fluff-wise, whereas Warlocks tend to PEW PEW.

I think the problem with the Warlock is that people have a certain expectation how a Spellcaster class should play and the Warlock rejects that model so they reflexively don’t like it, instead of playing to its strength. You can't nova but you got tons of reliable aspects to your class.
Maybe. For me it's a story thing. It's ALWAYS a story thing. I'm not fond of the way I generally see Warlocks played IN COMBAT when it comes to their story. OtOH, out of combat, they are very interesting, with their patron and all. Probably the MOST interesting class when it comes to that.

we simply disagree, I see not how this has any relevance to boring / exciting, it simply means everyone is on the same schedule instead of the party resting because one out of 5 players who is on a different resource sxchedule needs to.
The solution to only one out of 5 players being on a different resource schedule is to give more short rest abilities to more classes, not to put everything on daily. That is, indeed, boring.
Precisely. That is why the long rest is not a problem. You have time to clear the cave and time to rest. With the short rest you have time for neither
No, short and long rest both only matter before you’ve finished clearing the cave (again, unless you can’t safely get to town, in which case, you’re still in a dangerous location, so both still matter). At any time where resting of any kind matters, resting for 1 hour will be easier than resting for 8.

Can go either way really. Everyone on short rest or everyone on long rest.
Should be everyone with a bit of both.
I prefer everyone on long rest, as it is more flexible wrt what resources I spend when throughout the day
On the contrary, with everything on long rest, you have to try to predict what resources you’ll need through the whole day. With everything on short rest, you only need to know whether or not you need to use a resource this encounter. Maybe you need to predict one encounter ahead, if you only get the thing once between short rests instead of twice. Either way, much, much easier to manage. But moreover, either is far less engaging than having a mix of both, so there’s some things you need to conserve and spend once in a whole day, some things you can use pretty much every fight but want to wait for the right moment to use, and some things you can use whenever you want.

as I said, everyone on either schedule is better than a mixed schedule, I just prefer the long rest schedule because it does not arbitrarily pace my resource use

yes, that is a decision to make, better than 'well, we had two encounters, time for our obligatory scheduled rest'.

precisely, boring, a no-brainer free of consequences
