We've seen this song and dance. It's not helpful.
well, it is what I said as well as what I meant. Plenty people who prefer other editions play those, I don’t see why you could not.
I can see why you interpreted it your way however, could have phrased it differently to avoid that.

All your suggestions amount to ‘make it like 4e’ from what I have seen. We had that version already, no need to create it a second time.

By all means, keep on making your suggestions, I don’t care whether you do.

that is not a problem, that simply means you do not have them for the next encounter, just like everyone else
Yeah but Warlocks were definitely not intended to be the nova spell casting class. Quite the opposite. And despite that, they were hugely popular. Also, the power of this build would depend on spell access. The new version has access to the same spells as wizards. I don't think that is something I would want to implement but it would represent a massive boost to Warlock power with 6 slots.

Then don't try to post up to chase me off. I don't tell you to leave, I expect the same respect.
as I said, I do not care whether you post, I was not chasing you off. Believe it or not.

Where are we, kindergarten where I can send you to your room or something? You would not listen anyway, and I do not bother trying

It also means that the warlock's role as the newbie spellcaster (or indeed any sort of primary spellcaster alternative) has gone; they have just as long a list of spells to juggle as anyone else and just as much faff to do with spell slots.
I am also not enthusiastic about the new warlock, but the newbie spellcaster was always a false claim IMO. Because you have to be very resourceful with your 2 spell slots and you have a lot of decisions to make that can easily result in a bad build, the warlock is not very newbie friendly IMO. I had several newbies in my groups and in my experience the ones who took warlock had always a really bad time considering the mechanics (the flavour and narrative potential of having a pact with a higher being everybody loved). I think the cleric is much more suitable for newbies. You can change spells every rest, have a lot of spell slots, you are versatile in combat but also have some utility outside of combat and your class features are mainly fixed and don't let you decide between dozens of irreversible options.

I dont think any full caster is newbie caster in this edition. I feel concentration and the vast variety ways to play a caster just by the spells you pick
