D&D General half-orcs and bad Charisma

... because I make mistakes :

6 Orator -- Cha ===> (E)mpathy
5 Warrior - Str ===> (W)illpower
4 Thinker - Wis ===> (M)orale Rating
3 Acrobat - Dex ===> (S)kill and Swiftness
2 Yoghin -- Con ===> (C)hi
1 Creator - Int ===> (I)ntuition

Ah, remnants of when Charisma had more to do with your good-looks then your force-of-personality. I've always found it funny that Orcs (and to a lesser extent, Dwarves) wound up (until recently at least) with a penalty that implied that they were wishy-washy, meek, or unintimidating.

I mean, clearly it was meant to say that they were grumpy, brash, and stand-offish (as well as the earlier ugly), but it didn't always come off that way.

There are several types of intelligence in the real life. You can be good for a thing but bad for other. For example using fictional characters, Stever Urkel from the sitcom Family Matters would be high Int but low Cha and Wis. The characters from "Big Bang Theory" are very high Int, but low Cha. Katarine Claes, the main character from "my next life as a villainess" is oficially the dumbest one, but... she is too charismatic and everybody loves her (because she is very friendly, and generous with the compliments.

Wall-E and EVE almost didn't talk, but they could communicate their feelings. There are more example of cartoons characters who couldn't talk, but they were moving.

Sgt. Hartman from the movie "the metalic jacket" is an example of low charisma. Clint Eastwood's character, the sgt Thomas Highway in "Heartbreak Ridge" is very unfriendly, almost as much as Sgt Hartman, but he was high Charism.

You couldn't watch Darth Vader's face but you didn't want to make him to get angry. Grogu, alias "baby Yoda", is one of the most loved and popular characters from the last years. The famous Pikachu, or Groot, only with a word/phrase, but very loved and popular.

I don't see Cha as "willpower" but the talent to earn the trust or linking by the rest.

Omni-Man(Nolan Grayson), the father of Invencible(Image Comics) and Doomdays(DC) could be the same willpower, but Omni-Man is more charismatic than Doomday.

In Disney's Encanto, the mc, Maribel Madrigal, isn't so pretty as her sister Isabel or her cousin Dolores, but she is most charismatic and with hight number of possibilities to become the new matriarch. Her cousin Camilo is very funny and friendly, but he hasn't the true charisma to be a leader.

then, perhaps Orcs would be High Str and Low Int ( example for taking blows on the face lol )
High and Low means your highest stat is Str while your lowest stat is Int :)

now for Kobolds: High Int but low Cha :) ( makes them good M-U )

Are you implying the table is mistaken?

If not, why does STR relate to Willpower in your opinion?
It is interesting, according to this table a person that is more Charismatic is more Empathic. I'm not sure if I agree on this.
The table also seems to imply a person with a higher Wisdom leads to a higher Morale. This I definitely disagree with.

How YOOOO doin'?

Fun Fact- AD&D Half Orcs were related to TOS Klingons.

you are totally right !

now I would print :

6 Orator -- Cha ===> (M)orale Rating
5 Warrior - Str ===> (W)illpower
4 Thinker - Wis ===> (E)mpathy
3 Acrobat - Dex ===> (S)kill and Swiftness
2 Yoghin -- Con ===> (C)hi

( that was an ( not so ) old topic of mine :) )

Willpower, as for Bending Reality to suit your needs ( like Bend Bars / Lift Gates, i.e. Str )

note that this is all wrong, because

Warrior ---------- Str + Con
Acrobat ---------- Str + Dex
Yoghin ----------- Dex + Con
Creator ---------- Cha + Int
Orator ----------- Cha + Wis
Thinker ---------- Int + Wis

Intelligence - Creator + Thinker
Constitution - Warrior + Yoghin
Dexterity ----- Yoghin + Acrobat
Wisdom -------- Orator + Thinker
Strength ----- Warrior + Acrobat
Charisma ----- Creator + Orator
