Honestly, if anyone has seen it, I'd be happy with a Fighter like the Bushi from Adventures in Rokugan. They have stances and gain a resource each turn that they can use on maneuvers or save up for a more powerful move in a later turn.

Stances can be a good mechanic. I actually saw Laserllama did a stance system where the stance took concentration like a spell. Which ties in some 5e mechanics, but also allows for some higher impact stances

Not according to the current text.

Yes, according to the current text.

This is what I'm saying. You just have to pick one, and then start building/rebuilding the class with that narrative in mind. "Anything will work" does not actually work.

Actually, it does work, but....

I personally would have liked the sorcerer narrative to be narrowed down a little. I liked the bloodline idea from 3e for example.

You personally don't like it.

You personally don't like a slightly undefined narrative, so you shall insist it won't work, cannot work... even in the face of irrefutable evidence that it works. well, your personal dislike is noted and furthermore ignored. It does work. We have a class that works that way. So we can have more.

Again, none of those things imply supernatural abilities. Some of the ideas people have had would work with this, but nothing supernatural. All of the classes that actually have supernatural/magical abilities have a narrative that explicitly supports it. The fighter should too.

Acquainted with death is basically the orign of the Phantom Rogue, the rogue that can steal the soul of those they kill in the form of a soul token.

I guess that is not a supernatural ability.

Even the less-defined current narrative for the sorcerer explicitly allows for supernatural or magical abilities. The current narrative for fighter and rogue does not.

Where does the phantom rogue appear? Is there anything in its description that allows for supernatural abilities? Because if there is, it's not the same thing.
