Again, you canIf it's the same edition, there shouldn't be something you can do in one printing that you can't in another.

We hadn’t previously established a standard for adequacy. Besides which, our key point of contention here is why human/elf and human/orc hybrids should be held to a different standard of adequacy than all other hybrid combinations. I contend that they should not.
And they keep existing. Instead of getting their own dedicated section that is mostly the same as their parent race, it now just says 'see parent race'.3. Human/Elf or Human/Orc: Again, its a Legacy/Grandfathering in. They exist because they have existed.

I actually very much appreciate good art in RPG books. I am a visual person, and art really inspires my imagination as much as stat blocks. You'd think they'd prefer to not re-buy their books if they're aren't substantial changes to them. I'll never understand consumers.
Not necessarily new, but we need deva back. And it'd be nice if they actually gave aasimar a chance by being core.Do we need new races?
I'm glad art makes it worth it to you, but honestly I've got access to plenty of art, so that means very little to me.I actually very much appreciate good art in RPG books. I am a visual person, and art really inspires my imagination as much as stat blocks.
And I do see some good changes. In fact, I'm not seeing very many BAD things added. If I do have an issue, it's that there are some designs that I like better earlier in the playtest that didn't get traction. And I can live with that. It's still my favorite version of D&D ever. Just a bit better.
Goliaths are moving to PHB '24, with what like 8 varieties?
Orcs are moving to PHB'24, replacing Half-Orc
Half-elf is dropped
Aasimar added as well, right?
That's a lot of new species material, plus some of the species have variants that used to be in other books that are now in the PHB. For people who want more core species you'll be really happy.
I'd prefer better rules than that, I have no need for dedicated Half-Whatever entriesAnd that's the part that's insufficient. It's like throwing everything out about X species, and just saying 'call it whatever but these are your rules'
I don't understand how that's remotely good enough.
