D&D (2024) Do you think they will add more races to PHB2024 to make up for dropping other stuff?

We hadn’t previously established a standard for adequacy. Besides which, our key point of contention here is why human/elf and human/orc hybrids should be held to a different standard of adequacy than all other hybrid combinations. I contend that they should not.

I would argue.

1. Nothing being lost from the release version. This is already no longer going to happen regardless, but thats one thing.
2. Human's are as diverse in D&D, as Humans are in reality. So any visual hook one desires to reflect 'themselves' is already present.
3. Human/Elf or Human/Orc: Again, its a Legacy/Grandfathering in. They exist because they have existed.

The real question to me, is why should the other X number of combinations be considered at all.

Once 2024 is out, does anyone at all expect the original printing to continue to be made??

And they keep existing. Instead of getting their own dedicated section that is mostly the same as their parent race, it now just says 'see parent race'.

And that's the part that's insufficient. It's like throwing everything out about X species, and just saying 'call it whatever but these are your rules'

I don't understand how that's remotely good enough.

You'd think they'd prefer to not re-buy their books if they're aren't substantial changes to them. I'll never understand consumers.
I actually very much appreciate good art in RPG books. I am a visual person, and art really inspires my imagination as much as stat blocks.

And I do see some good changes. In fact, I'm not seeing very many BAD things added. If I do have an issue, it's that there are some designs that I like better earlier in the playtest that didn't get traction. And I can live with that. It's still my favorite version of D&D ever. Just a bit better.

I'm glad art makes it worth it to you, but honestly I've got access to plenty of art, so that means very little to me.

Goliaths are moving to PHB '24, with what like 8 varieties?
Orcs are moving to PHB'24, replacing Half-Orc
Half-elf is dropped
Aasimar added as well, right?

That's a lot of new species material, plus some of the species have variants that used to be in other books that are now in the PHB. For people who want more core species you'll be really happy.

They haven't said, they tried this Ardlings thing, but every one was like that just an Aasimar with an animal head, so just put Aasimar in, but instead they just pulled Ardlings despite it scoring well (like it never occurs to them to provide more interesting lore, because they mechanics in both versions was fine, the first one just needed to be given to the Aasimar and second needed better lore).

I'd prefer better rules than that, I have no need for dedicated Half-Whatever entries
