Neither here nor there really, but Asmodeus is a demon in the Old Teatament for most Christians, central to the Book of Tobit as a foil for Raphael.
I don't want to break forum rules about religion, but I think you are very mistaken about what "most Christians" actually believe.

Protestantism was pretty much founded on the principle that "if it isn't in the Bible, it isn't true". Hence the rejection of Purgatory etc. The Book of Tobit isn't in the Protestant Bible.

Yeah, let's not go into nitty-gritty, but I would point to resources about Christian demographics: most Christians belong to a tradition with a larger canon, and while thst varies a sizeable majority would call Tobit part of the Bible.

I'll point out Satyrs, Nymphs, and Tritons are real world Gods, not most powerful ones, but they do have prayers. Just one example of how hugely wrong you are. Another is Tyr and Silvanus and Lovitar and Tyche in FR.

Trust me you won't win this argument, I'm actually Pagan.
And Mielikki and Oghma. Bhaal is probably Baal.

Let’s use Tyr a prominent member of the Forgotten Realms Pantheon. He has little in common with Norse Tyr who is traditionally depicted as a god of war, military strategy, and victory. FR Tyr is instead the blind and maimed god of justice.
Both missing hands. Tyr the FR god has war as one of his domains in 3ed.

So you think it was wrong for TSR and WotC to use these for decades prior to now?
Pretty much.
I am an atheist, so mythologizing religion is not a big deal to me. However, I know people to whom it is. It is akin to being racist, sexist, etc. IMO. Just because I don't feel that way, doesn't mean the ones that matter feel the same. While I may like it (gamification of RL religions and mythologies) it isn't about me. I don't get to enjoy stuff I like if it is harmful to others, and I am OK with that.
