But Blade is cool and Wesley Snipes was badass in the Blade movies.Thats not D&D, certainly not 5e.
WOTC has adjusted the fighter in the playtest, added fighter options in TCOE, and change how they did monsters in the last few books.
The whole "that's your opinion" ignores what WOTC has done.
I have already said 3 times, the best option is to lower monster HP.
At this point you are hitting a strawman.
I don't believe I have seen that in all of these turgid threads. Disagreements, certainly, even vociferously, but I haven't read anyone telling you that. But, perhaps I missed that.Ignoring demands I stop voicing my opinions and preferences for a start!
Even when he refused to open his eyes for the shot! But Blade is cool and Wesley Snipes was badass in the Blade movies.
Clearly, no. That would be unrealistic.Isn't the 5e high level fighter supposed to be cool?

I'd post the movie clips if not for the gore.
It's 5e supposed to be cool?
Meanwhile, as someone on the opposite side of the fence I have had people tell me on a related thread that I shouldn't be posting.I don't believe I have seen that in all of these turgid threads. Disagreements, certainly, even vociferously, but I haven't read anyone telling you that. But, perhaps I missed that.
That seems like arbitrary desires.Which strawman? The non-existent were hyena strawman or 1- shotting the giant straw ogre that's never been an option in D&D?
Want to play a mundane PC that gets a lot of damage in 1 hit? Play a rogue with sneak attack. Want to kill multiple ogres in 6 seconds through skill and expertise with a flurry of blows? That not only likely kills multiple ogres to the rogues 1 while also having more consistent and dependable damage? Play a fighter.
That's fine.Ignoring demands I stop voicing my opinions and preferences for a start!
The vast majority don't even play high levels. Why do they have a say in something they wont interact with to the detriment of us who want to kill a den of dirty evil vampire scum? Its not meant to be all things to all people, at all times.
Go forth, and write your own rules (as I believe you already do) is the answer you seek.
Otherwise, we can line up the people who think this is cool, and the 'excuse me did you account for that bag of peanuts you have in your pack' on the other side, and we can determine who gets to decide what is 'cool' and worth codifying, ya?
Meanwhile, the vast vast vast majority will buy a book here or there, throw some dice, crack some jokes, and have a laugh while they enjoy the game.
