It would be stupid not to unload an asset in thst situation: the future aspect guarantees a ludicrous price for the seller. Then one of the middle east countries dumped their sliver holdings and made the price drop like a rock
Many people in similar or better situations don’t perform nearly to Elon’s level. Yea he had alot of advantages compared to Joe Blow, but he didn’t have any more advantages than other elites and he’s much more successful than most of them. Maybe we write it off as sheer luck, but trying to say it’s just because his family advantages rings pretty hollow too.
The truth is somewhere in between.

thats when you find the really smart guys. They've taken the money to the next bubble. It's the bigger fool theory of bubbles.
You can always make money in a bubble, so long as there is a bigger fool. The problem is when you look around, and realize that there are no fools left.
No one has denied that a supportive family with money helps. But as the brother’s you just cited show, there’s a lot more to success than that.I once had a conversation with a classmate (think post collegiate level). We had a similar conversation, and he was making the same point you are trying to make.
He was talking about how he was so much better than his brother. He was in this school like me, because he made it! It had nothing to do with his gender, or the color of his skin, or his family's business that provided him all of this money and opportunity. NO. It was all him. He earned it. Unlike his brother, who squandered it. His brother, who had the same opportunities, but decided to get involved in drugs, had to get bailed out by his parents over and over again, just avoided a criminal record thanks to some expensive lawyering, and now had to be hired on to the family firm while he sorted thing out. How could anyone not see the difference that hard work makes? He was in a good school, and his brother was stuck working for his family for now.
I mentioned to him that, well, that was great. And I was sure that there were a lot of people that weren't as fortunate as his brother. And had they been in that same position, they would have been in jail, and unemployable. And if they were him, they would have had to work this whole time, and not just concentrate on schoolwork, and also have to worry about crippling student debt when they tried to choose what job to take.
We didn't really talk about that again.
Yeah, if you have $1 million of Silver on hand, amd somebody trying to corner the market has put out futures guaranting a price of $4 million...that's a $3 million gift for you, subsidized by the Nimrod buying futures with creditthats when you find the really smart guys. They've taken the money to the next bubble.
