D&D (2024) Do you plan to adopt D&D5.5One2024Redux?

Plan to adopt the new core rules?

I don't own many 2014D&D books. I tend to visit 5e websites like dnd5ewikidot.com, 5esrd.com and D&D Wiki for my 5e fix. ;) So I don't see myself buying any 2024D&D material, especially when it will be posted for free on some website someday.

Besides, I am more interested in Level Up. ;)
I hear ya. I have some A5E stuff, and I use a lot of 3pp like Valda's Spire of Secrets, and Kibblestasty and Laserllama's material. WotC's stuff is fairly dull in comparison.

What if this poll about adopting 2024D&D was more than a yes/no poll?

A) You adopt some of 2024D&D, but keep using some of 2014D&D.
B) You adopt some of 2024D&D, but keep using all of 2014D&D.
C) You adopt all of 2024 D&D, and don't use any of 2014D&D
D) You adopt none of 2024 D&D and keep using 2014D&D.

The results for this poll would paint a better picture than a binary poll of where the participants stand with regards to 2024D&D and 2014D&D.
I was wondering something similar, focused more on what DMs will allow for building PCs.

A) 2024 Only
B) 2014/2024 Mix - DM Custom
C) 2014/2024 Mix - PCs fully built with one or the other, including spells, feats, species, backgrounds, MC rules, etc (ie no using 2024 Spells with 2014 base class, or vice versa)
D) 2014/2024 Free for all - Completely up to PC Players
E) 2014 Only

I'll most likely use option C for the campaigns I DM moving forward, but would consider custom rules if a player asked for some specific combo of old and new (like a 2014 Moon Druid with 2024 spells). Also, I consider floating ASIs for species (and other 'Everything' optional rules) to be part of the 2014 rule set now, so that would stay the same for someone building 2014 characters post 2024 release.

I'll have to look a6t the book when it's published, but based on the last playtest, I voted a luke-warm yes(?). But reading the actual product will determine my final answer.

I had played Pathfinder 1e for 10 years, so I bought Pathfinder 2e expecting to love and play it. I was VERY disappointed after reading the core book when it arrived, as was my entire gaming group. Only 1 of them was willing to even give it a few test games, and after playing them, he too decided he didn't want to play it. So we dropped Pathfinder 2e.

Will something like that happen with D&DF 5.5e? I don't know, but right now, I'm willing to give it a try at least.

WotC might be trying to abandon that practice but the idea of a revised version of something being labelled a "new edition" has become pretty widespread, not just in RPG circles but elsewhere.

Which means, they're stuck with this/next year's release being known as 5.5e whether they like it or not.
On this forum, maybe. Most of my players don't even know, or care, that D&D has had different editions. They don't even know they are playing 5e, so they definitely aren't going to think of it as 5.5e.

They just play D&D.

From WOTC, the only material I own are the core books while the rest is 3pp.
Some of the 3pp stuff that I like includes material from the following: posters on this site, 5MWD, EN5ider, Mage Hand Press's website, Sterling Vermin, Walrock Homebrew, Tribality Publishing, Rich Howard, Brandes Stoddard, GM's Binder (e.g. Agenderarcee Ranger class), the Dungeon Master's Guild, and Drivethrurpg.

That's a solid list of my own 3pp, such that I now want to look into the ones on your list that aren't on mine.
