I find that hard to believe. No pun intended.
Anyway, I wonder if anyone knows when the first iteration of player character bullywugs was? I can trace it back to 3rd edition, but I suspect there was a version much earlier.

Complete Book of Humanoids (2e) unless it was in Dragon Magazine priorI find that hard to believe.

Gah! You could have gone with, "To believe that would be quite a leap" or even "That's a stretch!"I find that hard to believe.
That's an interesting concept. Critting something so horrific that doing so brings up morale(HP).I gotta admit that I have a huge soft spot for the 4e take on Bullywugs. A stat block where the creatures are so loathsome that you actually gained HP if you scored a critical hit against them. It wasn't a huge bonus or anything like that, but, it did make me smile.
You get a sad face, because I don't think it's very nice to Dragonborn to connect them like this to the Hopping Prophet and Foe of All Demi-humans. A bit beneath their dignity.Note the Vast Swamp is home to Wastri who believes that scaled humanoids are the pinnacle of development. Granted it tens more towards bullywugs and frogs, but that’s not really a huge step to see Wastri as having something to do with the development of Dragonborn.
That’s 4e lore. Not relevant.
Well I like my 4e lore. That was 4E lore, 5E Dragonborn have much more vague and open lore.

(Which you seem to implicitly concede in your post 1803).
Well I like my 4e lore.
Let's strike a deal then - you can parachute them in, provided that they are not connected to Wastri!True. But 5e species have very little lore tied to them. No ancient empires to be seen. Which makes it much easier to parachute them into new settings.

I mean, fair enough, it was good lore. But nothing in the Dragonborn write-up in the 2014 5E PHB or any subsequent book uses the ancient empire bit. Dragonborn are described as reclusive wanderers living in small bands, which is pretty easy to fit anywhere.Well I like my 4e lore.
