Which actual lizard has a long, skinny, bendy neck with a big head on the end of it?

A snake. which is what the green is based on.

I think the visual reference is Draco Volans.

Which oddly enough does fly a bit like a superhero, specifically Batman, in that when it flies it grabs and holds it's "cloak" in position to fly.

Sure, but those have patagia stretched between elongated ribs. This dragon has an armlike wing structure, like a bat or a bird. The combination of both just looks weird.

It harkens back to the history of D&D Brass dragons:

See, the 1e and 2e designs have proper rib wings. All the WotC versions have the weird hybrid between rib wings and arm wings.

I guess this isn’t a new problem with the 2024 design, but I still don’t like it.

I adore this one. Wasn’t sure about the skull face in the Tiamat image, but it looks great to me in all of these. The spider-like extensions of the wing bones are cool as hell, and I can definitely see the amphibious reptile influence on the body structure. The idea that it’s weaker than other dragons in most stats but higher in dexterity doesn’t really come across to me, but that’s fine, it still looks amazing.

-what the Gem Dragons might look like in 2024D&D.
-what the 2024 Dragonborn are going to look like. What looks good for 2024 dragons might not look so good for the Dragonborn.
-if there is going to be an upcoming poll thread on which edition had the handsomest versions of the dragons.

Not that matching real life animals precisely is important, but many/ most varanids have long necks and big heads.

We have seen some Dragonborn pictures in the videos.
