D&D 5E Book of Ebon Tides Now on D&D Beyond

The ToV Monster Vault would be easier to code, but it would still be, effectively, a direct shot across the bow of the Monster Manual.
I would not be the least bit surprised if there wasn't some exec or VP at WotC who has suggested that they should just let other people do the hard, expensive work of producing the actual books and game and WotC should just rake in the profits from the digital storefront and inevitable VTT microtransactions.

And of course, the big question is whether WotC would ever go for Tales of the Valiant appearing on DDB.
Third party content designed for 5e is one thing, but even if TotV is still compatible at the start, that doesn't guarantee it will remain so over time as it grows into more and more of its own thing - see Pathfinder going from basically an update to 3.5e to its own distinct system.

I think supporting multiple full game systems on Beyond at the same time is unlikely, unless they're aiming to turn it into a system-neutral platform. And I don't think anyone wants WotC/Beyond becoming the Valve/Steam for TTRPG digital tools after their OGL shenanigans.

I can't imagine they would support ToV as an ongoing concern, but the Monster Vault would be a relatively easy monster book to put up. The biggest issue from WotC's side, as I see it, would be that it's explicitly intended to replace the Monster Manual.

Apropos of 3PP on Beyond, I was goijg over the GenCon schedule again to know what is coming out when, and notices this pretty cool pa El, including soft confirmation of a new 3PP coming to Beyond, Griffen MacCauley. Apparently, in her introductory remarks at a WotC event this afternoon, the new VP said they wanted to move towards publishers putting their own material on Beyond a la DMsGuild.

"Third-party creator content will continue to move onto D&D Beyond. Right now, Wizards assesses creators and content before it hits platform, but want to get to a point where creators self-actualize."

I get the feeling that these books are put on D&D Beyond to drive interest to the main setting on the publisher's sites or Drive-Thru, but I'd love to see the worldbooks of Midgard, Grim Hollow, etc be put up on D&D Beyond like what happened with Tal'Dorei Reborn. It would be nice to see more third party settings get exposed to wider audiences.
