Hah, Jorphdan's face at 37:16 "What?" when he's reading the Dual Wielder feat reminds me of my reaction to 5e rules language when transitioning from an OSR game.
That is the one I watched. The new PHB is a beautiful book. Love the old-school illustrations at the top of the index section, very AD&D 1e.
A valiant effort (pun intended) but I'm still not going to buy the new books for the first time since 1980. No FOMO. I'm retired now and my gaming budget is fixed for the year. Instead, I'll buy the upcoming FAGE Foes and the Dragonbane Magic books. The former is great for crunchy heroic stunts and the latter is the perfect simple gritty game.
I also looked at this one and posted it onto another thread yesterday. Looking at it, page by page, was very nice. I especially liked how each subclass in the book now had their own iconic character tied to it. The Dragonborn artwork also made me reconsider some of the things I initially didn't like about the 2024 version.
I highly recommend watching Jorphdan's latest video summarizing his experience with getting his video copyright striked. He's thorough and, from my perspective very understanding and forgiving.
edit: Apparently, you'll need to hop over to YouTube to watch it. 13 minutes.
