WotC D&D Hiring New Game Designer Months After Firing Many

The job pays from $86-145k and is for an experienced game designer—presumably much like one of those they let go a few months ago!

Notably, one of those let go in December in Hasbro’s company-wide cost-cutting cull of over 1,000 jobs was D&D designer Dan Dillon. Dillon posted on Twitter—“Well. There it is. D&D is hiring a game designer, 8 months later. Was it worth it, you soulless f*****g cowards? Did you save enough money?”

It’s so hard to tell anymore. Maybe but literally every thread involving WoTC whether it be about current events or game play decisions goes this route. So I am inclined to say no.
Is that maybe because WotC/Hasbro have been doing scummy things for 20+ years? They make products I sometimes like, but that's it. WotC isn't our friend, it's not the friend of the people that work there. To many people act like blind WotC fanboys/girls and not looking at the trackrecord, not everything is bad, but enough to form a pattern and certainly not a nice patern. When WotC does something or makes something, I'm extremely skeptical. Many feel that way, that tends to happen when you stick around long enough to see all the faults in the ride...

I have long said the same thing. They are a self interested corporation. Not my friend. I buy some of their products but not very many actually and none in the past 18 months.

But sometimes people 'over scummify' things that have more reasonable explanations. Occam's Razor.
