D&D (2024) Greatweapon fighting style? Is this another joke? Did everyone at WotC failed elementary school math classes?

It now says ANY damage die.
in 2015 it says you reroll a die that comes out 1 or 2.
this is treat any die of 1 or 2 as 3.

looks to me that the target dice are the same, just the effect of modification is different.

But, I could be wrong and I hope that I am, but I have a feeling that it will be any WEAPON die.

Are you saying your not smart enough to combine push, slow, polearm master, crusher, and battlemaster maneuvers?

Too much weapon swapping to keep track of?

And you want to stick with an Evoker who can just toss damage anywhere?
I'm saying there is no fighter with caster level complexity

"Dumb" people won't notice the difference.

They will be too busy having fun to stop and do math.

I mean, sure, if people don’t care about balance then balance doesn’t matter. 🤷

And their maul is still doing more damage than the longsword.

Yes, about one point more. And if you use greataxe, then it is less than half a point more. Not a great trade for two points of AC.

And I think people will eventually notice that their supposedly hard hitting build choise doesn’t do much, especially if there is a character that chose duellist in the party for comparison.

fun is always fun until you realize your are being robbed in front of your face.

same way you have fun in amusement park and then the next day you find out that that specific park has 3× regular prices.
then it's not so fun anymore.

Idea.

Great Weapon Master feat.
Instead of adding +Proficiency to damage. Add d4 ->d12 to damage.

More synergy with more die rolls.

I get the idea, but I have an upper limit on how many dice I want to roll.
And that limit is 4-5 dice. rest is average out.
And I like the reliable +prof bonus to damage
