WotC Greg Tito On Leaving WotC: 'It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of *****'

We reported earlier that WotC's communications director Greg Tito had left his 9-year stint managing the Dungeons & Dragons brand for a political appointment as Deputy Director of External Affairs for the Washington secretary of state's office.

In a surprising turn of events, Tito criticized his former employers, saying "It feels good to do something that doesn't just line the pockets of a**holes." He later went on to clarify "Sorry. I meant "shareholders".

Tito is now Deputy Director of External Affairs for the Washington Secretary of State office in Olympia, WA.

I'm done with this conversation. I've stated the facts, spin it however you want. Also ... I'm not going to bother with something so nit-picky as the fact that I didn't use the correct term according to you.
So you're really done this time?

Words mean things. You know this, presumably, since you are choosing the words that make what WotC did be seen in the best possible light. Which you are allowed to do, of course...but maybe own it, just as the people who only see WotC in a negative light should probably do.

I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to share that. No judgement from me, even though I only partially share that view. Getty, Rockefeller, etc. I get all that. What does that have to do with this thread though? There may be a connection, but I'm not seeing it. Do you mean because WotC is part of a corporation they are not allowed to try to recover their property in the same manner that a private citizen would? I hope not!

I think you are expressing a more general feeling about a topic and letting it bleed into a situation where it's not applicable. Am I right?

It wasn't their property for starters. They onsold it to a distributor.

It's a civil matter between them and their distributor not hired goons on the other end.

Combine that with OGL debate, the way they treat their staff and licensing eg Larian.

Larian made over a billion in revenue very quickly ad doesn't want to deal with them.

And the staff treatment as well.

I think this is more what is happening...

Again, so sorry that I mentioned this. How about we chat about something else?

Thinking...

So, any one have opinions on 4e?
I have actually had that happen in real life. Hell of a fishing trip.

In any case, I actually enjoyed 4E (lol!). It did suffer from the roboticism that it is often accused of. Of which it is often accused (slave to the grammar checker). Super easy to run. But the flavour was sucked out due to the mechanics.

I've gone over facts and from what we know, WotC did nothing wrong in this particular case. Feel free to spin it any way you want.

I'm weird. I make poor judgements, like trying to convince people on the internet. But re-engaging after you say you are done seems weird to me.

But maybe weird to me, is actually normal. Either way, carry on!

So, you're not done then?

As for facts, who's spinning? The Pinkertons did retrieve the merchandise, like I said; I'm not the one saying they were merely investigating...come on.

Please note: I haven't yet said WotC did anything wrong...just that if there's confusion legally over who owns the cards, a lawyer may be more useful than Pinkertons. That's my original post. Like Ulorian, you are tossing me into a group that I am not a member of.

Spinning indeed.
