D&D (2024) Rogues can now Sneak Attack with all thrown weapons - Tridents, Spears, Handaxes, they all work!

If 5E wanted to have Melee Thrown weapons count as ranged weapon when making ranged attack it would have said so in the Thrown property for example. Not only they never did, but they made an official ruling saying it's not:

Does the Archery fighting style work with a melee weapon that you throw?

No, the Archery feature benefits ranged weapons. A melee weapon, such as a dagger or handaxe, is still a melee weapon when you make a ranged attack with it.

The rules are the rules regardless of who put them there.

SEEMS to be wrong to YOU (not to me any more). This perception is probably heavily biased by experience in 5E. To me this seems like a logical intentional change, otherwise why change it at all?

Moreover an error such as this is still RAW until corrected.
Nope. A link is not RAW.
20 hours ago I had the same interpretation you did and so did 5 out of 6 in our gaming group.
Great.
But the rules are what the rules are.
So it is possible that the internet does not make everyone more educated. Surprise.

All Ranged weapons are Range weapons.

Not all Melee Weapons are Range weapons.

Sneak Attack can only be used with Finesse or Ranged weapons wether they're Range weapon or not.

Two problems with this:

1. Range Weapon is defined and it is quite a leap to say that is different than Ranged Weapon when the latter is not defined by any sort of verbiage that makes sense WRT Sneak Attack.

2. When you read the Sneak Attack section and click on the link it takes you to the very section that defines "Range Weapon"

... So you just keep ignoring the rules...

Again. Editing error.

I found another coding error on DDB about this very subject. May be it's the same programmer that incorrectly made an hyperlink shortcut in this Sage Advice :) : https://www.dndbeyond.com/sources/d...sockid=076d6875ed8a697715d17caaecb168d1#SA079

Can a rogue/monk use Sneak Attack with unarmed strikes?

The Sneak Attack feature works with a weapon that has the finesse or ranged property. An unarmed strike isn’t a weapon, so it doesn’t qualify. In contrast, a rogue/ monk can use Sneak Attack with a monk weapon, such as a shortsword or a dagger, that has one of the required properties.

I did, just not in a way that you can unerstand. Not my fault.

No you haven't. You just keep insisting they are different. You offer no logic to indicate why they identify "Rage Weapon", claim the link is an error (which itself is logical) and offer no verbiage describing what a Ranged weapon is.
