D&D General What music do you use for your games?

I often play music to set the mood for my players but was wondering what sort of music the Dungeons and Dragons community uses for games. If you use any music at all that is.

As for me I use music from all bunch of sources like these two:

I love more modern music or instrumental rendition of modern songs. My go-to battle song is an accoustic instrumental version of Dance of Death from Iron Maiden.

Skillet and 30StM do good fight music too.

Only one song, when the players roll low and they are getting desperate.

In the early 90s, I had a cassette in the Gettho blaster ready to play this.

It worked every time, players started rolling high.

These days we play using Discord, and some of us are older with hearing loss. No music. In August, I received two hearing aids.

These days I don't use music so much because I found it actually distracts me as a GM, but when I dd I mostly ran horror games and would often use the 92 Dracula Soundtrack, the Hellraiser Soundtrack, Danse Macabre, Henry Purcell harpsichord suites, The ennui Morricone Hamlet soundtrack (this is really good gaming music in general), the Ennio Morricone Wolf soundtrack (he has a lot of interesting stuff from this period that isn't as iconic as his 60s and 70s work, but worth checking out...the Mission is another good one of his from this era). I actually liked the Henry V soundtrack and the Frankenstein soundtrack by Patrick Doyle as well. I could never do anything with lyrics as that would distract me. Eventually I noticed myself getting overly distracted by melodies so stopped with music (I also found that in most of my groups about half said they liked the music and half said they didn't want music).

We have a compiled list of MP3 (about 8 hours worth) with various soundtracks from video games, movies, etc. such as Quake, MechWarriors and MechCommanders, Conan the Barbarian, and some Gregorian Chants.

Also, I sometimes include sound effects on the VTT software I use even for our live game.

At the moment, I am running players through The Wild Beyond the Witchlight. And, it so happens that Syrinscape has a collection of soundtrack/sound effect/background pieces created specifically for that adventure. I have different sound bits for every location and likely encounter within a couple of clicks.
