D&D General D&D Lay Offs/Corporate Re-Organization

Can somebody explain success to me?
Per the word on Twitter, Hasbro fired a little less than 100 people across the whole because of their overall issues, including 4 at WotC. Unrelated tot he PHB.

However, I cannot help but remember this being a major issue, very recently, and it felt like something thst would have longterm consequences:

Nice victim blaming. It would be better to have good working protection laws so there is no need to only seek employment for the seemingly good companies (and pray they stay good - catastrophe is always only one leadership change away) . As a European I am always taken aback when I read these insane layoff stories from the states.
I explicitly wrote I was not making excuses for Hasbro. Did you even read my post?

Maybe we should await until after the sales in Christmas, when the highest number of toys are sold.

Hasbro now is interested into selling toys, IPs and (video)games. They don't want all the eggs in only one basket.

* Would you allow jokes about Elon Musk acquiring Hasbro or would be it too unpolite?

It's also a choice made by individuals to seek employment at a company that reliably screws over its workers every. single. damn. year. No excuses for Hasbro leadership, but they wouldn't be able to get away with this if workers didn't put up with it. There are plenty of good companies to work for out there. Maybe you won't get to work on D&D, but at least you'll have work next year.
To be fair to them, there's not a lot of industries right now that aren't engaging in this type of scumbaggery.

Choosing not to work for a company that views you as food to be digested is basically choosing not to work and just being slain by neglect.

Wife's job prides itself on never doing lay offs.

2008 they didn't do pay rises. Year after she got something like a 15% one.

They're kinda weird. Most years you get a bonus and they're anti union but you get generous unasked for pay rises lowest being 3% on a meh year. 0% once in 2008.

One of the soldiers so to speak had a 30 year anniversary or birthday and he invited the former CEO/major shareholder to the event. He founded the company flew 1000 mile's and turned up to to it.

They'll suggest you use PTO if you amass enough of it. Wife took a month off to use some up.

For the record, many companies do this. Unpaid leave is a financial liability, especially if it’s possible to accrue beyond a fixed ceiling. They’re generally not prodding you because they’re looking out for your mental health or anything.

Aware she had several months saved up.
