D&D (2024) Table of Contents for Dungeon Masters Guide Leaked

The new Dungeon Master's Guide has been sold at the MCM Comic Con in London UK this weekend, according to Reddit users Mr_Murdoc and Dusuno, and some material has been shared, including the Table of Contents. The book was officially on sale there, with D&D Beyond saying that "MCM Comic Con London attendees will be the first in the world to have an opportunity to purchase a physical copy of the 2024 Dungeon Master’s Guide!" 900 copies of the DMG were available for purchase at the convention.

I am a bit annyoed that there is no way to learn languages. And Xanathar's guide's tools are still cool.

I guess that Xanathar will still be used in the future at my table.

it is not enough to be proof yet, that will take years, but it certainly is an indicator towards it rather than towards the contrary
It is an indicator of popularity. IMO that is just a small part of sonething being considered a "classic".

I would love it if sales and quality/timelessness/value/what have you weren't somehow considered synonyms.

Well one thing is for sure. The special cover 2024 special cover PHB is already rising in price on the second hand market. I’ve heard stories of stores scrambling to find more.
My FLGS have a few left, they got a lot of them.

popularity usually is what makes something a classic, otherwise it might become some cult favorite

Which versions of D&D do you consider classics, 1e and 5e? Those happened to also be the best selling ones

I will never understand the hunger some people have for special covers. I didn't get it in the '90s with the comics industry, and I don't get it now.

I only care about what's between the covers. And even there it's mostly just the words.

I preferred 2e (although I do like 1e core rules), which had more releases than both combined.

Well, wait for the boxed set. That’ll confuse you even more.

As a consolation prize it’ll pry sweet sweet loot from my greedy callused hands.

Mine has some still, but they ordered a bunch.

I am curious at what the new box set is going to look like: based on what they have laid down so far, it will have three separate Adventure booklets, at least, do it nay be more of a deluxe box experience, like the old black box, than the last couple Saterters were.
