Four BG3 cast members will be returning to Faerun later this month.

Members of the Baldur's Gate 3 cast will be performing at a D&D Live show later this month. Today, MCM Comic-Con London announced that Neil Newbon (Astarion), Devora Wilde (Lae'zel), Theo Solomon (Wyll) and Samantha Béart (Karlach) will all play in a D&D Live-branded Actual Play show titled "What We Do in the Cursed Shadow-Lands." The four will be joined by a "special guest Dungeon Master," who is currently unrevealed at this time. Assumably, the cast will reprise their roles as their respective Baldur's Gate 3 characters, especially as the actual play involves an outbreak of the undead outside of the city of Baldur's Gate.

The show will take place on October 27th at 11 AM local time. You'll have to buy a ticket to the show if you'd like to attend and there's no word on whether there will be VOD of the performance.

The new actual play continues a resurgence of sorts for the D&D Live brand, which started as a streaming/in-person event during 2018 and 2019 before switching to a virtual event in 2020. Originally, D&D Live was used to promote that year's campaign book, but a new D&D Live show at Gen Con 2024 served to showcase the 2024 Core Rulebooks and the upcoming Sigil VTT. Given that Wizards was tagged in a tweet promoting the show, it appears that this is an official D&D-sponsored event and continues the use of Baldur's Gate 3 to help promote D&D and specifically the D&D 2024 rulebooks.

I’m not on social media so maybe I don’t get dnd and BG3 put in front of me as other might have been, but I enjoy seeing the tie ins, successful game and successful fun edition, I’ll watch it whenever it’s available.

The 2024 books are loaded with portraits of existing characters.

Maybe there's someone who loves Dragonlance and Drizzt and the cartoon characters and Baldur's Gate and Ravenloft and Planescape, but the odds are almost everyone will have at least one set of characters that makes them say "geez, these guys again?"

And everyone will survive the experience.
