How many of you are old enough to remember the website? I was waxing nostalgic. I was really excited about the new game. I went to Origins Game Fair in Columbus OH and walked up to play a demo game. Monte Cooke walks up and introduces himself. I don't know Monte Cook from Adam. Okay great I'm in but he seemed surprised I didn't even know who he was. After that though I was following Eric Noah's page faithfully.

How many of you young pups weren't even born yet or were super young?
I was a member. I remember being really concerned when Eric transferred the site to Morrus.

Thank you, Russ, for keeping things alive.

I know for sure I bought the 3.0 books in 2001, but I don't remember if I have first joined the ENWorld forums or bought the books... my profile page says I joined in Jan 2002, it is possible I was just lurking before that time, but I also remember there was some server hiccup at some point which might have required to re-register. Anyway, I certainly found ENWorld after 3.0 had been released, because at that time I was on a hiatus playing D&D and I remember I missed the news of a new edition coming, and only found out in 2001. However, I do remember retroactively reading Eric Noah's "unofficial 3e news".
There was a big database crash in Jan 2002 and pretty much everything was lost. That's why there's so many "Jan 2002" accounts.

I started lurking on EnWorld in like 2001 (I think in January, because I'd gotten the 3e PH for Christmas), but it took me more than a year to write my first post - on small dungeon design if I remember correctly.
