Am I remembering right that there’s a puce which depicts the svcehe where the Nazgûl on a horse rides past as the four hobbits hide under the embankment?

Angus McBride's work for MERP is nearly all gorgeous, and for a gamer, the RPG connection is lovely, but for my tastes they're pretty much all a bit too dark in tone for a dining room. Here are three I particularly like which aren't as dark as others.

John Howe did such a scene, and Jackson based his scene off Howe's image, which is funny because Howe apparently took the scene from the Bakshi LotR; it doesn't appear in the original book!

Of course lots of people have illustrated that scene, including Frazetta, who made Eowyn scantily clad facepalm
