I don’t know if they will straight up remove the Orc Warrior, Eye of Gruumsh and Warchief. I imagine they would keep them for backwards compatibility.

Same with the Drow and Duregar.
I think that they're just going to be careful not to call the Orc Warrior simply "Orc". And that goes for all of the sentient species. It may have been simple (and I think that was the real reason for the usage) but calling something "goblin", "orc", or even "bugbear" instead of something like "goblin raider", "orc warrior", or "bugbear ambusher" just seems... reductive to a modern eye.

It makes the game "sound" more 4e - but that's because it was was something that they'd solved in 4e, and it wasn't for no reason.

Why can hope without any real reason your hope will come true. I always hope armor with damage reduction will become part of the core rules (among other things), even though I know that will never be the case!
I too am quite fond of DR, but I'd rather do it myself then see WotC make some version of it I don't really like but that nonetheless soft-locks every other publisher for 5e from making one.

Although I doubt 4e did for the same reasons 5.5 might.
