Yep. I was about 9 when it came out on UK TV and it was part of what got me interested in D&D (Fighting Fantasy books and Mazes & Monsters the other).

I have the DVD collection of the cartoon on my shelf as well.

I watched it a few times when I was a kid but I was never really into it. Even then, it didn’t seem like it was D&D.
We had a choice of 3 channels, one of which didn't really show Children's TV, so we all watched whatever was on. The idea of not watching a cartoon (unless it clashed with something on the "other side") never really occurred to us.

At the time I had the Monster Manual and Monster Manual II, but I didn't have the Fiend Folio. So some of the stuff was new to me - Bullwugs, and maybe the Shadow Demon as well?

Also, some of the monsters were presented as cursed in some way (so not really Evil, maybe because it was for kids) and I wonder if any D&D groups later suffered a TPK because they wanted to "understand" the shambling mound or skeleton champion they were facing.

The cartoon got mentioned a few times in school by non-players, mostly with amusement when they found out I was the Dungeon Master.

Feels like a trap.
Same thing if you remember when this was in the theatre for the first time. .

No… because it wasn’t available on any of my channels here in Quebec.

Also my mom was utterly convinced that D&D was Satanic, so…

I watched it as a mid-teen and enjoyed parts of it. But Bobby annoyed me because he behaved like a Hulk with poor impulse control. I wasn’t thrilled by Uni either, but I had suffered Scooby Doo ruined by his own version of Cousin Oliver. So that resentment of irritating, cutesy characters has a well-laid foundation.

I remember watching it a few times, but I didn't find it nearly as compelling as He-Man. This would have been in the 1983-84 range, so I was 5.
