D&D General Poll: Did you watch the D&D cartoon when it was new?

Sometimes I have a hard time believing there are so many young players. I asked on r/Dnd the other day what new GMs trhought of the 2024 DMG, because I figured reddit trended younger, and 90% of the responses were from crusty old GenXers like me who decided to answer even though I only wanted new DM responses.

I watched it on Saturday mornings on CBS. WHEN it aired wasn't consistent. They would move the time slot around. But yes I definitely watched this first run.
It certainly explains some of the irrational disdain we see for new stuff around here sometimes, especially art.
As an aside: the D&D cartoon characters get an entry in the DMG Lore Glossary, but there is nothing for Eberron (except for a gnome who doesn't live there anymore). It isn't the "50 years of D&D" book, it is the "50 years AGO" D&D book.

I watced the show in the 80s and have seen the series about a dozen times since then. As much as I enjoy the show, I have to laugh at the quality of the animation and the stories sometime. However, there are other times when I marvel at the stories and how inspiring they were. Like most stuff in the 80's... (and always I suppose)... some good / some bad.

Oh, I would love to hear your reasoning behind this statement...
I have plenty of disdain for most of the new material for D&D, certainly, and find most of the art (frankly) sad compared to what we could have had, but I have my reasons and never felt them to be "irrational".

I would rather watch the D&D cartoon than be subjected to the 2000 D&D movie, if that’s any consolation.Never seen it in any form; and based on what I'm hearing about it here, that status is not likely to change.
If you can stand to watch any 70’/80’s sword & sorcery movie, you can handle - and might even enjoy the cartoon.
