Limit Break Dancing (He/They)
There's a lot of chatter in my social media feed (well, on Reddit anyway) about social media platforms. The hot topics are: TikTok possibly (likely?) getting banned in the United States, Facebook no longer doing fact-checking, and people leaving Twitter en-masse because--well, let's just say "because Politics" and leave it at that. And these are just the ones that my friends are chatting about--there's probably a lot more going on that I'm not seeing, especially in other countries.

So I'm curious: if you are a Twitter Quitter, what social media platform(s) did you switch to? Did you keep your Twitter account, but also start using another platform to connect with those who didn't? Check all that apply.

(The list of Twitter alternatives was generated by Google AI. So if something is missing or incorrect, get used to it, this is the future.)

I never used Twitter, so I voted "never used Twitter in the first place." I can't really "switch" from something that I never engaged with in the first place...

I don't have much of a social media presence these days. I have a FaceBook page that I check maybe a few times a week, and I can't remember the last time I checked my LinkedIn account. But for the most part, I'm not very "social" when it comes to social media...I hang out on EN World and Reddit mostly.

Blue Sky has been good so far, but I don't really use it for much beyond following a handful of TTRPG creators and some news. No clue how the community is to interact with.

The overall vibe I am getting from Reddit is that people are in three different camps: people who have switched to BlueSky, people who are staying with Twitter, and people who weren't on Twitter to begin with. It's hard to tell which is the larger group, but if this small poll is any indicator:

BlueSky Converts > Never Twitters > Twitter Loyalists.

I quit Twitter the day Musk took over. I haven't replaced it with anything else.

I use Facebook but mainly only to keep in touch with friends and family overseas (and to privately manage my D&D games). I use a Chrome extension to filter my FB experience.

I use both Facebook and LinkedIn for work.

I have Snapchat but only occasionally use it with family.

I have Instagram but only really look at it when my daughters send me cat videos. :p

I have Discord and Tumblr accounts but never really use them anymore.

I think that's it.

The number of social media sites that EN World predated and is outlasting is starting to become almost funny.

Going/Gone:
MySpace
Google+
TikTok

Might As Well Be Gone:
Twitter
Facebook

Which is next, I wonder?

Seems small privately owned forums are more durable than billion-dollar megacorporations!
