D&D (2024) Monster Manual 2025 Aberrations & Oozes Video

Yes, the one across the room that was getting ready to flip the lever causing the ceiling to collapse.

But in general, no.
You mean the kobold with 5 hp that could be one shot with an arrow or javelin or a cantrip with just as much a chance at success without spending any resources?

My first MM was the 1e one with Orcus, Demogorgon, Asmodeus, Geryon, etc. So I'm inclined to agree with you even though I understand that most DMs will never use them.
Do we know for sure that they are not in the book? At least a generic one? I mean they wanted an Apex Monster of every type in the MM 2025. So I won't write it off too early.

Or command as cleric, or tasha's hideous laughter as wizard... if you want to spend a resource...

As a wizard, I'd probably opt for another spell: magic missile. It deals guaranteed 6 damage. Job done.

Edit: This was a double post, and since I feel bad for wasting space, I'm replacing it with a collage of some oozes from D&D's history. Specifically, here is a selection of delicious puddings. Pictured are dun, white, elder sentry, vermilion, black and marble puddings.

Edit: And to replace my triple post, here is a selection of relatively obscure D&D oozes that I'm not expecting to see appear in the new Monster Manual. Pictured are an amoebic crawler, an arcane ooze, an astral render, a bloodfire ooze, an abolethic skum, a blood ooze and a displacer cube (yes, that's really a thing).
