What's The Next Big Pop Cultural Push?

What do you think?

In television, I think we are already in the start-to-middle of a couple of phenomena:

1) Adaptations of extant books/comics/media: while there's always been some of this, there's a lot of it going on.
2) Non-police criminal investigation: Because cops aren't popular, but little old ladies investigating crime sells.

While I think some folks will want to see jingoistic military entertainment take off, I don't know that there's a lot of audience appetite for it right now.

These are still definitely popular. Those are kind of evergreen

Also sometimes things are counter-intuitive. You can have cultural movements swinging one way and entertainment another. I could see something like Dirty Harry taking off again for example (not sure it would hit Marvel like levels)

Screw it: let's have BattleTech on the big screen. Have five different movies involving different factions, then have your 'Avengers' crossover with the Fourth Succession War.

Robot Jox is going to be hard to beat.

In all seriousness, though…not quite.

Copper was a damn good police procedural set during the American Civil War. It only got 2 seasons…on the BBC.
