What's The Next Big Pop Cultural Push?

I expect an uptick in war movies and anything related, spy flicks, behind enemy lines, etc, lots of soldiers as the heroes. Big dumb action movies will probably go along for the ride.

Also lots of quiet and not-so-quiet resistance movies. Lots of resistance movies in set in Nazi Germany, Nazi-occupied countries, etc. An uptick in pro-union movies wouldn't be surprising. Along with various civil rights movies.

I'd be surprised if Bollywood movies didn't pop in a big way in the next few years.

Not trying to be difficult but people have been predicting "Bollywood going big" for literally the last 20 years, and whilst the odd movie has found some cross-cultural traction, it's been about 1 every 5 years, if that (with RRR as the most recent). RRR worked because it was very funny and strangely cathartic to see naughty redcoats have tigers slung at them, but a lot of other Indian (and some Pakistani) non-period action movies have politics that might read as somewhat fascist or fascist-adjacent (no surprise given the BJP is fascist-adjacent, and indeed directly evolved from the pure-fascist RSS). I could easily see some more period pieces getting traction though.

That's the thing. I see a troubling amount of the western film's heyday coming back into the world

I have heard that cowboy movies do better during times of uncertainty, so it might not be an either/or.

Cop shows won't be going anywhere. They won't blow up like CSI did all those years ago. Anti cop already burnt out didn't catch on outside USA that much anyway.

Whatever it is ENworld won't see it coming.

Animated out of Asia is a maybe. Think that's probably hit a ceiling already.

Really good drama maybe from Korea or whatever fills thatvHBO/MCU/Sopranos/Breaking Bad/Game of Thrones hole
