D&D (2024) Anyone else's top choice for new setting Witchlight: Domains of Delight?

We got the Beyond the Witchlight adventure, but that is akin to calling Saltmarsh a Greyhawk setting book, I want a full fledged Witchlight: Domains of Delight book.

Does anyone else want that?

They've said they want to do new settings, I think this is a great place to start.
Absolutely, and I remain convinced that it is coming based on the Feywild material in the MM and especially the DMG. Just the Feywild material in the Lore Glossay alone suggests WotC has big plans for that. The term Domain of Delight is now in the core books, and was used again recently in Quests from the Infinite Staircase.

I think that using the name "Witchlight" also fits better for the Domains of Delight makes more sense than Ravenloft does for the other Domains of Dread, because they can easily bring the carnival back as a transitive hub for players to explore multiple Domains.

I have a conspiracy theory, which I think you may enjoy, about WotC "new Settings" they have apparently been working on for D&D, which Ibsuspect to be Witchlight and the Inner Planes (all the Elemental stuff in the MM and DMG screamms "new Setting" to me):

D&D products usually take about 2-3 years to develop, except for the Core books.

Magic the Gathering products, however, take 4-5 years.

What if WotC decided to pool some R&D resources. And make new stuff for Magic and D&D simultaneously...?

The D&D stuff might have to wait on the MtG portion to be done and ready for market...

Wait so you think that there will be say a City of Brass & Witchlight setting MtG sets?

Yeah, with the Sphinx of Wonder, Arch-fey and fey lineages in the MM I can certainly see a Domains of Delight being dropped to appeal to the popularity of the Solarpunk/Cottagecore market.

Personally Im still hoping on an Eldraine (MTG) like setting (which could also be a Domain of Delight)

If it was structured similarly to the Van Richten's book, that would really appeal to me. I felt that VRGtR had a good level of detail on a broad enough number of domains that it was useful and enjoyable for someone not already super-steeped in existing D&D lore. If an analogous book for Domains of Delights existed, I'd be interested - and I say that as someone who's not even really playing D&D anymore.

It would not surprise me in the slightest. Crawford hinted at big things Setting wise in 2026 and 2027, and we don't know much about MTG has cooking for then, except for a return to Arcavios and a new multiverse status quo being established.

Well we know in 2026 that there will be a return to Lorwyn, a return Arcavios, and an event set that ends of mega story arc, plane unknown. The rest of the standard sets are likely to be Universes Beyond sets.

In 2027 it's completely unknown.

This year is Aetherdrift, no way it's that, The Edge (possible, but unlikely to be a crossover with D&D set), and Tarkir extremely likely crossover set, but not a new setting, just would be new to D&D, and that us likely to be the October surprise.

So earliest you'd see a new setting that was designed for both D&D and MtG is 2027.

Some of the Domains would be designed to appeal towards those markets, others might go in a darker direction, and yet others might be more Disney Princess inspired, and some might just be very experimental or focus on none European folklore.

There are also the Universes Beyond slots.

Part of me idly wonders if the mystery UB Set this year and the D&D October Surprise might not be the same thing...Exodus even?

No, Exodus's TTRPG product is coming in April if I remember correctly, I already pre-ordered it during the founders thingy.

Rumours are STRONGLY saying the past MtG UB set this year is Avatar: Airbender stuff, not thar personally familiar with it, I mean I know it's anime and that they had a live action movie with another just being announced.

I suppose the October Surprise D&D book could be Avatar: Last Airbender Setting Book, but I was under the impression that the D&D UB (Universes Beyond) books would not start showing up until NEXT year, hence along with other major hints I suspected Tarkir (either exclusively or in a broader multi mtg setting book) was the October Surprise Book.
