House of Dragons vs. Rings of Power (and a touch of Wheel of Time)

I disagree. Your explanation doesn’t make sense. He’s scared of what he will do in the heat of
Battle or in anger. It’s no more complicated than that. It’s the core of Perrins character that he still
fights reluctantly despite that.
I just finished a re-read through audiobook last year, and the OTSD front fighting and killing those two Whitecloaks in Eye of the World us 100% central to Perrin's behavior. Really every character is dealing with some pretty heavy PTSD, almost Luke Jordan was working something out, but each in their own way.

I stopped watching in season 1, so i don't know.
The show just fundamentally doesn't understand the heart of the story or it's characters on pretty much any level.
I wish people who don't watch a show wouldn't come in and make sweeping and frankly awful comments about it, as it they were currently informed and up-to-date, which they are not. Even the crummy YouTubers covering the show have at least acknowledged how hugely it's improved and how much better it seems to showing the characters.

Also it's pretty hilarious to sneer so hard when the showrunner is a huge WoT fan and definitely in fact does understand the story and characters.

The reality is that you're confusing "making choices I wouldn't make" (and you aren't a showrunner having to make hard choices, so can easily say you'd do X or Y without the faintest care for practicality, budget, etc.), with stupidity and incompetence, which is pretty rubbish.

The most recent episode, which frankly, I loved, as I love it when fantasy gets "a bit weird", like is actually fantasy, not just cod-history with the odd dragon, is something only someone who loved the books could even make. Whether you think its taking the right path or not (not that you know, you haven't seen it for two seasons), this episode utterly committed to the weird and detailed lore of WoT in a very cool way whilst still managing to have some actual pacing and characterization.

He really doesn’t, and your whole rant is self-righteous drivel.

I’ve acknowledge positive things about the show, and I am not the least bit ignorant about it because I watch clips and keep abreast of what they’re doing, hoping that some indication of it fixing itself will occur.

Then Matt gives a dumb speech to the heroes of the horn and I roll my eyes (if he is one of them they would recognize him immediately and one of them would have said something to him, rather than the other way around, so they didn’t even shoehorn in that idea very well).

As in the beginning, they keep doing a great job of casting (with a couple exceptions), and a terrible job at understanding the point of the story. The showrunner claims to love the work but clearly doesn’t actually understand it.

And all I need to prove my earlier statements correct is the first episode, so this entire exchange is pointless.

This is your 17th warning, many of which are for insulting other members. Clearly you can’t help yourself. How you got to 17th without being forcibly ejected, I don’t know. But you won’t be getting 18. This one is a temp ban. Next one is a permanent.
