For a 2024 post I mean

In not tgat picky I'm referencing 2024 doesn't bother me about volleyball 5.0 being mentioned.

Its a silly idea like 40k fireball spells.

I have tested the scaled down power level version level 12 or so. Not 100% sure I ran hew and cleave correctly.

I think tightly packing 1000 enemies in range of an area of attack is the part that's far from universal.

Not just D&D, or TTRPG, but any game at all.
Or real life for that matter.

The question wasn't whether it's normal, or universal, or something the DM would do, but the most attacks one could get in a round (and, though I brought it up, as I mentioned before, I prefer the Warlock cheese as mentioned by others in the thread more than this idea in actual gameplay, simply because, as you point out, in actual gameplay the Warlock multiclass build will see more practical usage).

Even if you are playing 2024, if you bring forward a class from 2014 (I think they said that was doable) to play with the 2024 rules, it's still useable!

You can do it but power creep makes most of them pointless. Artificer would suck even more but you could potentially abuse the magic item crafting.

Sorlock?

Theoretically buffed due to Sorcerer part. No longer S tier damage dealer though due to changes. At least not anytime soon and then you're competing with CME*.
*CME on paper waiting to see real life use.
