I am surprised I am still excited for Daggerheart

I missed the pre-order window because of going all in on Shadowdark, so I'll have to wait for general release.

Like a peasant.
Oh no. Please don't look at the pics as they may count as "spoilers" (I think closing your eyes while clicking on them will be enough).

Apparently my pre-order was mistakenly sent before the official release date of 20th May, so people in my position have been requested not to spoil others.

Are you proposing that it is as easy to create a whole set of rules as it is to create an adventure for a set of existing rules? Because if so, I think you are probably alone in that belief.

A game can be complete and good without constant support.
Im saying that a trad game without support is vanity naughty word and/or a ripoff.

Spoilers for rule books that have had an extended playtest?

Fascinating.

Do you not understand that GMs make up adventures all the time? Also, there were playtest adventures. Finally, what makes you believe there will be no support for DH?
Do you not understand that there is no point in a new trad game rules system unless it allows you to do somethings better than the rules youve already got?

And the best way to show, to teach those new somethings is via adventures?

I guess my shelves have a lot more heartbreakers than yours.

Okay, so let's unpack this a little bit.

First, whether Daggerheart is a "trad" game is up for some debate. it has some narrative elements, but more importantly it comes out of the tradition of neo-trad play.

Second, a new game (of any sort) does not need to do something BETTER than the game you got, just something different. Daggerheart is definitely different than 5E in some key ways.

Finally, adventures aren't the only way to explain how a game works. Even so, you still don't have any evidence at all that Daggerheart will not have adventures available. My guess is that there will be at least one if not more free PDF adventures available at launch. And, for all i know (or you, for that matter) there is a starter adventure in the book.

But, none of that likely matters to you. You seem to have planted your flag and are unlikely to be moved. Congrats. You have saved yourself $60. Use it to buy an adventure, I guess.
