I am surprised I am still excited for Daggerheart

There has been a request not to release "spoilers" to people who received the book early. They have said not to do unboxing videos and such. It was discussed on the Daggerheart reddit.
Ah. So was it an error? Did they accidentally ship some early?

I understand the annoyance of potentially having your entire game leaked online a month early, but I have to say that the concept of game rules being a "spoiler" is a little funny to me. Especially with the open beta.

There are the settings/campaign frames too. Maybe they mean that stuff more? Also the art?

"Spoiler" is usually something that would ruin the experience. Hearing the ending of a book or movie for example. I can't think of anything in this book that would ruin the experience if I heard about it early. But that's just me. They're in their right to ask people not to share the content early.

I just looked and the PDF release is scheduled for May 20th. So that's when I'll be looking at it, outside of previews and unboxings. I don't know that there's anything that could "spoil" it for me, but then I am not trying to plan a release for a huge product line, so what do I know?

I can't image a few leaks would do anything but improve their preorders/sales.

Exactly. Nothing in a game should be considered a spoiler. Unless there are spoilers for upcoming shows CR is planning but haven't aired or haven't been announced.

Every time people bring up Daggerheart as a fantasy heartbreaker that will get no support (as evidenced by nothing, I will add), I'll point to the DC20 RPG as the 100% better example example of a game with no future and supplying no real reason for anyone concerned about a game line to buy the core book.

DH will sell like gangbusters in its first year or so of life and its future will be fueled by an actual play from the world's most popular actual play streamers. Beyond that, I've no idea if it'll be any kind of perennial seller but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.
