Spoilers Daredevil: Born Again (Spoilers)

I had such high hopes for Iron Fist, since I'm a fan of Heroes for Hire. But without the friendship with Luke Cage (which only somewhat manifests later one), the story flounders about, feeling like the worst parts of Arrow.

Jessica Jones is a bit uneven as well, but any time Killgrave shows up is amazing.

Daredevil, Punisher, and Luke Cage are the real Netflix shows to watch.

EDIT: I'd love to see Luke or Claire Temple appear in D:BA at some point!
I want a Claire Temple Night Nurse show - a medical drama set in post-blip NYC teetering between rebuilding and collapse. Crime is rampant, new vigilantes are rising and Claire is the only one they can turn to for help - that makes her a target

New question: Matt makes no attempt to disguise his voice when in his Daredevil disguise (unlike, say, Batman). Why don't the people who know Matt ever recognize him by his voice (and/or his scruffy jawline)?
Same reason noone recognises Clark Kent without his glasses?

but even more so since he's blind but moves like a man fully aware of his surroundings - plausible deniability causes brains to shut down!

I believe the comics did try to explain this as some kind of Kryptonian hypnosis.

I've known blind people who you would not know were blind by the way the moved around. Memorising environments is an important tool.

Christian Bale's Batman was fairly obvious. The welsh accent was a bit of a giveaway!

But things like body language and smell (which humans recognise unconsciously) would be a giveaway for any costumed vigilante interacting with anyone who knew them well.

Disney is a little confused

On a different note: do I have to watch the Defenders between seasons 2 and 3 of Daredevil or can I skip it? I’ve read a bit about it and I’m not that interested in the whole Elektra / Hand side story.
Defenders isn't terrible, but it's definitely a mixed bag. There's a some neat stuff in there. Some of that is just watching the the actors do what they're good at, and watching the characters interact. I especially got a kick out of their different fighting styles.

The climax is pretty relevant to Daredevil seaon 3. I guess you could find a good recap and watch that?

I mean, it's a dramatic contrivance that as long as the show/movie/comic doesn't try too hard to pretend its "realistic", we just kind of have to accept.

IRL it would be ridiculous.

People do vary widely in how well they recognise others, especially facially, but in general, humans are incredibly powerfully wired to recognise specific other, particularly, humans by sight and sound. We recognise faces, we recognise expressions, we recognise small movements/body language as @Paul Farquhar says, we recognise walks and stances, from their height, from their build - and so on. Overall we're pretty damn good at it if it's someone we know - sometimes just even someone we've seen before. Even people who are face-blind can recognise people from all the other clues, I note. So anyone who relied on anything less than full face mask, voice distorter, and a costume that disrupted their appearance would probably be recognised very quickly by people who knew them well (so long as those people weren't in a panic or the like). And even with all those things you'd be risking raising their suspicion.

Love me some Radiohead. Wow, the stakes are high!

As much as I loved this episode (and can't wait for Season 2), as others have noted, the power of the story is undercut somewhat when you start asking what happened to all the other heroes who might have a stake in this new fresh hell.

Were they all on vacation? : )

It's rough, because this is Daredevil's story, and any other hero showing up runs the risk of stealing the show (I mean, any time Frank Castle is on screen is amazing!). So I'm not asking for a new Defenders team up, but I'm just afraid that these events will get a token mention, if at all, in other stories moving forward.

I really hope I'm wrong, but I mean, the track record isn't great for the MCU so far.
