Jeremy Crawford Also Leaving D&D Team Later This Month

Jeremy Crawford is leaving Wizards of the Coast later this month. Screen Rant (via me!) had the exclusive announcement. Crawford was the Game Director for Dungeons & Dragons and was one of the guiding forces for D&D over the past decade. In the past year, Crawford has focused on the core rulebooks and leading the team of rules designers. He has also been a face of Dungeons & Dragons for much of 5th Edition, appearing in many promotional videos and DMing Acquisitions Incorporated Actual Play series.

He joins Chris Perkins in leaving the D&D team in recent weeks. Perkins, who was the Creative Director for D&D, announced his retirement last week. Both Perkins and Crawford appear to have left Wizards on their terms, with Lanzillo very effusive with her praise of both men and their contribution in our interview.

On a personal note, I've enjoyed interviewing Jeremy over the years. He was always gracious with his time and answers and is one of the most eloquent people I've ever heard talk about D&D. I'll miss both him and Chris Perkins and look forward to their next steps, wherever that might be.

Most players don't even know they exist.

Not D&D games I've had most success with is Star Wars. Specifically the legends side of things. Knights of Old Republic game you'll get players generally.
So tell them about the games.

I've taken to writing up reviews of the many games I own, both so I have an excuse to really focus on them (I have severe ADHD so it's hard) and so I can introduce my friends to them. We're in the middle of other games, but they've expressed interests in some of the games I've written up--and at the least, now they're aware of them.

They don't interest me much tbh.

Alot of titles you hear about online either are unavailable locally or expensive.

My interest I'm other RPGs is low to begin with. Mist genres I'm not even remotely interested in to begin with *sci gi, horror, super heroes etc).

I've been hearing about how awful D&D is since 1996. Started playing 1993.

I disagree. I can find players no matter the system. Why, you may ask?

Because I am running the game and most people will play whatever the DM chooses to run because they’d rather play than DM a game.

I do ask my players what they want to play. It's how I get to run Star Wars and 2E.

RPG stuff is also expensive here and I don't have a tablet or whatever for pdfs.

I prefer paper and in person.

When I started 2E was more than a weeks went for phb. No Amazon sales, and 3 books from USA cost ne $220 usd approx few years back. And that's when the exchange rate was good. It's potato atm. You can dine out here for under $10 usd here or less than $20 for a steak dinner kind of potato.

What you pay on a book overseas on say Amazon. That's where our postage starts at roughly.

Pretty sure most pdfs are available everywhere. I know that I've bought rulebooks that are only priced in euros and pounds, even though I paid with dollars. I'd be surprised if the reverse wasn't true.

And what do you do with pdfs? PoD doesn't really exist here, printing in black and white may as well buy the book in full colour.

Don't when electronic device either to put pdf on. Most of the plays don't either afaik. 1 uses beyond account.

I used to buy pdfs as a preview when Paizo sold them for $10 or whatever.

...I read them. On my computer. Which is plugged into a wall...
