I remember enjoying it in the 70s, but I haven't seen it since so I can't really comment as to it's relative quality. But there are always a large number of lame sitcoms being produced.

Yeah, I did think of him overall, it was more the modern films where I'd struggle, I'd have to compare rotten tomatoes.
Prequels felt like a career curse to some degree.

If you are talking about "whose career has actually benefited from doing Star Wars", as opposed to just helped pay the bills, then aside from Ford, there is only really Warwick Davis. If you include TV, Pedro Pascal and Diego Luna.
From an actor's POV, terrible writing is a Star Wars tradition George Lucas established early on (with the one he didn't write: The Empire Strikes Back, being the best). It takes a massive ham like Iain McDermid (who I don't think was interested in a Hollywood career) to make Lucas's dialogue sound okay.

Hmmm, hard to say.
I don't think Liam Neeson's jobs were really affected, more of his age took a toll on him, but he's still a leading man in many movies these days, even at his age.
Ewan McGregor is also there with his acting career continuing at a decent pace after the Prequel Trilogy.
Samuel Jackson has probably become an even bigger hit and name as he's been the main Fury of the Marvel Universe.
I think it's hard to say James Earl Jones wasn't a pretty big actor. I don't think any of these actors were necessarily helped by being in Star Wars, but they all had decent careers afterwards. I probably would say Samuel Jackson has been bigger over the more recent years than Harrison Ford by quite a bit.
Of course, many of them had pretty strong accolades prior to being in Star wars, but post Star Wars they also had some pretty good careers.

I think you suggested box office was the best measure previously. By that logic, Samuel L. Jackson is the biggest movie star in the world. Which is a cute idea but come on.

Whereas actual megastar Tom Cruise languishes at #8, and Jeremy bloody Renner is a bigger star than Harrison Ford. Don Cheadle is nearly on-par with Will Smith! Ryan Reynolds is barely above Pom Klementieff, who I daresay most people wouldn't even know by name (she's Mantis is the GotG movies).
Yeah because he's not really interested in appearing in drivel, post-Star Wars. There are some actors of his calibre who will appear in absolutely any trash if you just pay them enough, and respect to them (hello Michael Caine, Samuel L.), but Driver clearly isn't one of them.
How, exactly, are you determining that? Hollywood uses the term "unknown" pretty specifically, so I suggest you find a different term because using "unknown" in the context of Hollywood actors to mean something different to how Hollywood uses it is... unhelpful.

I didn't use unknown I said not huge. Huge kind of implies A lister.
Unknown to general audience 2014 for ST cast would be an indication.

I read that as well as Mikey Madison some others have passed on roles in Starfighter (Jesse Plemons, Jodie Comer, Greta Lee) - doesn't mean much of course, the same happens with every film, and normally only gets reported on if it's a film that Certain People want to fail (like most modern SW movies), or later, if a film is exceptionally successful, media about the making of that movie (usually only classic movies or huge roles like Bond) will note various people who turned the role down.

If I were someone with a serious film career, especially someone like Madison, who is in her once-in-a-lifetime window to go from supporting cast member to big time star, getting involved in a project that may never happen or get stuck for years in limbo and, at best, will involve acting against a lot of tennis balls on green screens, I would not choose to do Starfighter, either.
The last few years of dysfunction at Lucasfilm have sent a message that these aren't people with their crap together. They need to actually produce some films and have them turn out well in order to attract that kind of up and coming talent again.

Couldn't agree more. Likewise Snook and Greta Lee. Both have a strong rep from their TV work but haven't had a big break film-wise yet, and getting into being a Star Wars villain (especially who might be heavily made up, and the role described for Lee screamed "Twilek") might not send the right message (and probably doesn't pay crazy money the way villain roles for middle-aged and older male actors sometimes have).
Plemons is working regularly in movies and well-regarded in a way where this would be safe so may well simply have better offers. It's not like he hasn't done cheesy villain roles! (C.f. Jungle Cruise).
(Also holy hell did Plemons get zemped? He's skinny as heck now!)
