Pirate Borg: Buried in the Bahamas

Bautista listens to the old drunkard and then looks at his compatriots, "Costas fortes? Acho que ele quis dizer pulmões fortes."

Safari looks around, bewildered and concerned.

"Mates, it's been an honour to sail together, and we have bravad many dangers! I thank you for this time and for you sharing your voyages with me. I feel I need to have a while to gather my bearings before setting out on further adventures. I will seek employment as a cook here and hope that I can make a small life for me and Philip."

((I am sorry, lads, I have taken on a huge load of work for Free League, and feel that I will need to focus on that for at least the rest of the year. So I have to bow out. I have thoroughly enjoyed this, and will be following the further adventures of the crew from afar!))

"I hope so. It's a small Caribbean and even a smaller island."

He leans in conspiratorially. His breath is terrible.

"This town is named after Commander Nelson or, more proper, a ship bearing his name. It went down not too far from here, taking its cargo to the bottom. But a crew with strong backs and strong lungs can bring the treasure back to the surface and have treasure enough to change their fortunes. It seems both of us are down on our luck at the moment."
"You got a boat, then? I suppose we could use this wonder of engineering,"

He looks at their makeshift raft,

"But we might be safer in a proper boat. I'd like to dry off and get the lay of the land a bit, though before we set sail."

Desiree takes Safari by the shoulders, his foul breath washing over the cook,

"It was good sailing with ye, lad. I'll come lookin' fer yeh when I'm the Captain of a Galleon and we need someone who can cook more than pasty gruel."

Desiree slaps him on the shoulders in a final goodbye and then scans the harbour for a better boat they could "borrow" for the salvage mission - should the rest of them choose to do it.

((is our raft seaworthy enough to retrieve the barrells or do we need a ship?

@Maggan good luck on all your endeavors, it was good playing with you!))

"No, but you do, don't ya?" He nods his filthy beard at the raft.

"Fine by me; I ain't goin' nowhere any time soon."

Safari is able to find a new home among the laid-back residents of Port Nelson, living on fresh fruit and seafood and lots of rum.
((is our raft seaworthy enough to retrieve the barrells or do we need a ship?
((It would be challenging to get barrels aboard and safely back to shore on the raft, but not impossible. But it would be significantly easier in either of the two ships currently at the jetty and there are presumably a few other fishing boats out at sea right now.))

((Also, I posted in the OOC thread, but if anyone wants to join the crew in Port Nelson, we have room for plenty more -- just post in the OOC thread to express your interest.))
