Maybe this is wishful thinking but if someone at Bethesda were sufficiently bold I wonder whether we could see Fallout 3 Remastered and New Vegas Remastered released together - or even as part of a package deal. New Vegas already reused a lot from Fallout 3 but enhanced some of the systems in a similar way to the Oblivion Remaster. Releasing them together would be an opportunity to just straight up take the good additions from New Vegas and shove them into 3.

Yeah, there's already a mod - A Tale of Two Wastelands, I think? - that does this, and lets you play through both with a single character, so it's very doable. And porting some of New Vegas' refinements back into Fallout 3 would definitely be a good idea.

I assume they have been working on it concurrently.
It seems not or they're not very far along if so.

The reason we know this is the lead dev working on said recently (post-Oblivion Remaster release) that they're planning on making the guns/combat in FO3 much more like those in FO4. Planning to. And as the gameplay stuff would be worked on alongside the graphics (as they're independent, essentially), this strongly suggests to me that they're in pre-production, not production, let alone so far along in production that they're years deep.

I bet that got moved up as much as possible after the shows success.
It probably can't really move though, that's the thing.
