I don't think Dedra survives the series. Either she confronts Krennic and he has her eliminated. I think the whole "she is assigned to the Death Star and dies there" is just silly. She will not die off-screen when she dies. And the same for Luthen. We will see his death when it happens.

I hope she survives. I think for realism it's great if not every villian faces consequences. That's real life. It sucks but what are you going to do.

If they can ruin Rogue One by killing all the good guys at the end, they can, and should, kill all the bad guys introduced in Andor. Even the war movies that Rogue One was inspired by, Dirty Dozen and Guns of Navarone and so on, one or two of the team made it out alive, but they had to go overboard instead with Rogue One.

To do any less would have been to betray their own storyline. You can't honour the sacrifices of all those whose struggles led to the Rebellion's victory if they aren't sacrificed.

While Rogue One and Andor can be tough viewing and are certainly different from our usual Star Wars style storytelling . . . this is what I love about both shows. They don't pull many punches.

I think few of our characters, good or bad, are going to make it past the finale tomorrow except Andor and Mon Mothma.

Speak for yourself! The fact that none of the movie’s protagonists make it out alive is one of the things I like about the movie!

What ruins it is the sequel trilogy. The rise of the First Order, the destruction of the New Republic, the return of Palpatine, etc completely undermine all the sacrifices the rebels made.

Including the ones who survived. One reason I had trouble getting into the old EU was that, much as I understood that people wanted to see the further adventures of the main characters, I always felt that they'd earned their happily-ever-afters, and it pained me to see them put through further peril and heartache. The sequel trilogy showing the aftermath of the not-so-happy lives of Han, Leia and Luke had much the same effect.

Exactly! Yeah, sure, it's realistic in that no one really gets a "happily ever after" ... but that's one of the reasons we have fictional stories ... so that we can pretend that people can have happily ever afters.
