That's a shame. I managed to run RM2 with the MERP campaign modules a few years ago and hope to get back to it one day. It's honestly one of my favourite games.
I lost all my old sim-trending friends years ago, some to moving away, personal reasons (or both), or sadly passing away. I only get to talk about this stuff online now.
 





I saw an interview with a bunch of kids after a shooting in Chicago, and one thing that stuck with me was one of the kids saying "We want to be the shooter" and the other kids agreeing. There has to be that willingness to fight, and kill, to be effective. Training is another layer.
In real life, a random guy with a knife who wants to kill you is terrifying. In D&D he’s one-hit die and does 1d4 damage.

Yeah, but in real life you aren't a hero. You're another one-hit die creature trying to survive the surprise round, often unarmed. If you were in full SCA combat gear with a sharp weapon and not surprised, my guess is the typical knife wielder would very quickly get terrified of you.
