You should honestly check out MERP or Rolemaster (second edition), based on your stated preferences I think you'd find it interestingWell, I like specific Injuries being possible, and long-lasting.

I own MERP and I like it quite a bit. There's really no chance to get anyone I know to play it with me, however. You should honestly check out MERP or Rolemaster (second edition), based on your stated preferences I think you'd find it interesting
That's a shame. I managed to run RM2 with the MERP campaign modules a few years ago and hope to get back to it one day. It's honestly one of my favourite games.I own MERP and I like it quite a bit. There's really no chance to get anyone I know to play it with me, however.
I lost all my old sim-trending friends years ago, some to moving away, personal reasons (or both), or sadly passing away. I only get to talk about this stuff online now. That's a shame. I have a physical copy of the corebook, and I've seen many of the supplements.I sadly got rid of all my original MERP stuff decades ago. I wouldn't want to play the system, but the supplements were good readin'.
The GM believed that ANY damage you took in combat would kill or disable you…
In real life, a random guy with a knife who wants to kill you is terrifying. In D&D he’s one-hit die and does 1d4 damage.I saw an interview with a bunch of kids after a shooting in Chicago, and one thing that stuck with me was one of the kids saying "We want to be the shooter" and the other kids agreeing. There has to be that willingness to fight, and kill, to be effective. Training is another layer.
