I was never much of a fan of DC comics (the 1978 Superman, and the Batman movies have obviously been a big deal for decades now and most of them pretty good), but have definitely enjoyed a lot of the recent projects. The second Suicide Squad, The Batman, Peacemaker, Creature Commandos, and the new Superman have definitely left me optimistic about upcoming stuff.

I dipped my toe in Doom Patrol recently and want to pick that back up. And Penguin certainly sounds good.

I think the approach of not being wound so tight or beholden to a big overarching theme or storyline has been really good for them.

Doom Patrol was excellent DC stuff. Though, probably not for the average supers fan.

"Doom Patrol" seems to have much of the same vibe as "The Umbrella Academy", but I've only seen a bit of it. I need to start on it from jump.
Thats a pretty good read. DP is wonderfully weird and unpredictable, but also very sad, yet always hopeful. It's certainly not for everybody.
